Our support for education excellence aims to provide direct benefits to the whole community.
Our donation of £1million to Robert Gordon’s College is being spread across a six year giving period, coinciding with the on-going regeneration project at the college which aims to carry the school and its facilities into the 21st century and beyond.
As part of the regeneration project at Robert Gordon's College, Craig Group have supported the construction of a modern performance and digital recording venue in the heart of Aberdeen.
The Craig Centre for Performing Arts is a 200 seat theatre with a full range of backstage facilities, a recording studio, video editing suite and a reception area which also acts as a gallery for art.
Chairman and Managing Director of Craig Group, Douglas Craig, highlights:
“it is important to ensure that the education of the next generation of leaders in North-East Scotland will develop young people in all skill sets, in performance as fully as in science.”
In addition to supporting the establishment of a new performing arts centre and a science and technology teaching block, around a quarter of the donation has been set aside for a bursary in perpetuity which means one child, every thirteen years, will be provided with the opportunity to be educated at Robert Gordon's College.
