North Star’s Safety Culture Praised by Shell

North Star Shipping has received glowing thanks from Shell Exploration & Production Europe Logistics for helping them achieve more than 2.4million man-hours of medical treatment free work.
As lead company for the European Rescue Alliance group, North Star’s efforts to manage offshore safety through example has been praised by the oil and gas giant who credit North Star as being one of those whose efforts have made an impact on keeping people safe in 2007.
Staff training, good safety leadership, competence assurance, quality incident follow-up and the adoption of industry best practice were among the measures taken by North Star.
In a letter of thanks, Shell EP Europe Logistics Manager Greg Andrews says: “Your organising and running of the quarterly ERRV safety meetings has been a crucial part in the overall safety management of our ERRV operations.
“This has led to a safety performance of which you may be justly proud.”
