Craig International Supplies Secures First Asian Contract

CIS Appointed by Thai National Oil Company to Supply Oilfield Products
Craig International Supplies (CIS), a division of the Craig Group, has secured a $ multi-million contract with PTT Exploration & Production (PTTEP), the Thai national oil company, operating throughout South-east Asia.
The “trading house agreement” will see CIS Inc in Houston provide procurement services to the oil company’s operations across South-east Asia. This will include supplying PTTEP with American specification oilfield products for a two year period.
This is the first major contract win for the Houston office of CIS Inc and the first South-east Asian contract for global shipping and energy services firm, Craig Group. It was awarded following a competitive and hotly contested tendering process which pitched CIS Inc against multi-national supply houses.
A new country manager has been appointed at the CIS Houston office to manage the PTTEP account and other clients based in the US and internationally. Justin Pate has joined CIS Inc after five years as regional sales manager for North and South America with Technip.
Mr Pate said: “The recent contract win with PTTEP means that the CIS Inc base will now supply a wide range of U.S manufactured products to the organisation’s exploration and production facilities in the South-east Asian region.
“Although we had to take part in a very competitive tendering process we won the business on experience, expertise and our considerable buying power and reputation. With the ongoing development of business opportunities in the South East Asian markets we expect to continue to make crucial partnerships with oil and gas organisations in this region so that we can provide our extensive procurement services to a wider client base.”
CIS Inc expects to grow the US business by xx% in the next 12 months, exploiting opportunities in Venezuela, Brazil and Mexico.
