Teaching Philosophy

Albert Einstein said ‘the definition of insanity is to repeat the same thing over and over and expect change’.

At the Kings Links Golf Centre we believe practice makes permanent, not perfect! Having regular check up’s with any of our teaching staff will guard against bad habits being engrained.

An important part of any golfer’s improvement is to fully understand their own golf swing! One of most effective ways to achieve this is by way of video analysis. The old saying ‘a picture speaks a thousand words’ often rings true.

Many of our pupils come along for a golf lesson with their head scrambled and confused with the continual bombardment of advice from their friends and family. We call this paralysis by analysis. Our objective is to unscramble their heads and simplify their swing giving them one or two points to work on.  Normally after a few sessions our students often have a ‘eureka’ moment where they realise the thought or feeling that has been missing from their set-up or swing.  Job done!

This is what makes the job so rewarding, seeing the player’s body language change and their confidence return.

As the golf swing is like a finger print, no two the same, it is impossible and wrong to teach everyone the same way. We treat and teach our pupils as individuals, not teach a method, but teach the individual.
